Provides a first assessment on the contribution of microbially influenced corrosion (MIC) to the system. Basis are measurements of the DNA concentration of microorganisms associated with MIC .
This service measures the DNA concentration of several microorganisms characteristic for microbially influenced corrosion. This data is used to estimate, how likely the system has a problem with MIC.
In the AiF projekt ‘MICdetect’ AMODIA has estabished a detection technique (qPCR) which allows an absolute quantification of the DNA concentration of microorganisms related to microbially influenced corrosion. From this data an estimation on the impact of MIC to the entire corrosion phenomenon is provided.
